A visit to Juval Castle
The castle on the mountain and the mountain in the castle
You have a unique view of the historic Juval Castle from our guesthouse. But what is behind the walls of this medieval castle? This popular excursion destination for culture lovers has belonged to the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner since 1983, who transformed it into one of his Messner Mountain Museums. Here you can admire his fascinating collection of works of art, books and objects from all over the world that deal with the mountains. The magnificent frescoes from the Renaissance period and the idyllic mountain animal park are also definitely worth a visit.
Discover hidden art treasures
St Proculus Church and Museum
St Proculus Church may seem small from the outside, but inside it houses treasures of enormous value. The unique cycle of frescoes, which dates from the 8th- 10th century, preserves the church's unique splendour. Opposite the church is the Proculus Museum, which is well worth a visit and, to the delight of culture and art lovers, contains finds from St Proculus Church and provides an insight into the history of days gone by from late antiquity, the early and late Middle Ages and the Thirty Years' War.
